Field Notes

Description:

Bird, Pisittaciform, family Psittacidae. Feathers are green in dorsal and ventral. Dark green in head and face. The tail with magenta and in the base of the abdomen. a white circle around the eye.
Usually in groups of 3 to 5. They can be found in the trees feeding seeds and leafs. On the contrary of most of the members of this family, this bird is less noisy and feed in complete silence.

Habitat:

This bird was introduced in Buenos Aires from its original habitat. They were brought from Misiones, Corrientes and Formosa provinces, in the norther - east of Argentina. Many other species of Pssitacidae family has been also introduced in this area. (As pets that were released)
