Field Notes

Description:

Small lizzard, around 25 cm long.

Habitat:

Spotted on a trip to the coast of the north of Chile (desert). I found them running around and hidding in small bushes and rocks.

Notes:

Adult specimen of Liolaemus zapallarensis. Species of lizard of the Iguanidae family, endemic to Chile.

Oops!! I misspelled the name! Liolaemus (no "r") zapallarensis.
Thanks Lori.tas! The link was very useful! As it turns out, my last 2 submissions are the same lizard species: Liolaremus zapallarensis, this one is an adult, and the brown one is a juvenile. So thanks for the link again, I have absolutely no doubt my lizards are the same ones that appear on that link (he's pictures and mines were taken around the same area).
