Field Notes

Description:

Chipmunk. Long, bushy tail of uniform orange/black color. Back stripes are white with slightly dark orange fur flanking. Approx 30 cm long.

Habitat:

Hopi Chipmunks range around the "4 corners" area. This one lives in the red rock desert of Arches NP, not too far from Landscape Arch.

Notes:

I was trying to take it's picture and it kept moving closer. finally he paused for a moment in this great pose.
