Field Notes

Description:

Some 4 to 5 cm in wingspan, generally white-cream appearance with more or less pronounced green veines underside; and rather whitish with some greyish pattern and spots.
Because of this greyish pattern, this one looks like a female.

Habitat:

Very common in our area (pays de Gex; the area between Jura Mountain range and lake Leman). This one seen on slopes of Jura mountain in protected area. Alpine environment, mixed but predominantly coniferous forest.
