Darting around in some bushes on the river bank.

This one looks like it could be a Gaudy Commodore, and it was seen in the same area, though I can't say that it is the same butterfly. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/557986031 But the photos were taken only a few minutes apart, so chances are good. There were a lot of butterflies in that area, and I must confess that I shot what ever landed near me and was still. So I may not have photos of the same butterfly next to one another.
Hi Pam! This one looks very similar to the Gaudy Commodore (Precis octavia), but some of the black markings are slightly different so I'm unsure if this is a different species (there are 14 species in this genus on continental Africa) .
