Description:

Rare form of Red-winged Blackbird..... supposed to occur only in central California.... so what is it doing up in southwest Oregon? I guess getting ready to nest with mate!

Habitat:

Small marshy area near small pond.

Notes:

Shot as many photos of this rare opportunity as I could.

I recognize that Red-winged Blackbirds are not at all rare. What I meant was that the Bicolor form of this species hasn't been known to be present in the area of Sutherlin, Oregon. Sincerely, Tom Becher
This particular color morph is rare. Red-winged Blackbirds are not all that rare.
I did not know Red wing blackbirds r rare. At the millpond where I live in Or there r hundreds of them.
