Field Notes

Description:

A soft, green, furry moss growing on a maple tree. I'm not sure what species it is; I haven't gotten much experience with mosses yet.

Habitat:

Mostly deciduous forest with the occasional conifer.

Notes:

There were also some white and gray lichens growing very nearby on the trunk of the tree.
