Field Notes

Description:

the whole spider, legs and all, was about the size of the palm of my hand--3-3 1/2 inches.

Habitat:

i saw it on a piece of concrete--the remnant of the base of an old bridge that once crossed the river. All that's left of it is crumbled concrete, rocks and the plants that grow on them.

Is it just me or does it have some kind of egg sac? If so, I know wolf spiders carry them around like that...might be a clue...
Best guess on the ID. Could also be a member of the Wolf Spider group.
