Description:
Each year around the beginning of November huge flocks of migratory birds cross the Himalayas and also from various places of India to spend the winter in a small wildlife sanctuary in East Indian state of Assam till March. Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary in the state of Assam has the highest density of Rhinocerous in the world but is only about 15 sq. km in area. The waterbodies in this wildlife sanctuary holds some of the most dazzling flocks of migratory birds found in India.
Habitat:
Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary is a small sanctuary with equal parts of wooded and swampy forest areas holding approximately 85 wild rhinos, wild water buffaloes, wild boar, jackal, civets, jackals and a dazzling array of forest as well as migratory birds.
