Field Notes

Description:

Very large tadpole, at least 5cm long, body alone is almost 2cm x 1cm. There were several this size. I assume they are (will be) toads. The culvert has been almost dry for several months until the recent rains. It is still used for irrigating farmer's fields in summer, although many are being replaced by pipelines now.

Habitat:

Moorish water supply culvert under track.

It would've been funny if you earned the tadpole patch with this spotting :D
