-41.5806, 145.928
Field Notes
Description:
Pademelons are the smallest of the megapods (kangaroos). The Tasmanian pademelon is endemic to Tasmania, where because of the colder temperatures found in Tasmania (compared to most of mainland Australia), they have a denser coat and a rounder build than the other six pademelon species. This one has a pouch and is therefore female
Habitat:
Found throughout Tasmania. This one was spotted in Cradle Mountain National Park.
Notes:
All Tasmanian marsupials are nocturnal or crepuscular. Ones out during the daytime tend to be used to humans.
