Field Notes

Description:

These graceful birds have white bodies with a pink tinge, with the pink deepening to a salmon pink at the base of the wings, with the tips of the wings and the underside showing black.

Habitat:

These birds have been flocking to the Tuzla Wetlands, just outside of Bodrum, Turkey for several years, although it was recorded that they never appeared in 2009. The lake is located next to a busy road but also has a back drop of mountains covered with olive groves, pines and tamarisk trees.
