Description:

Egg case is laid by mother Mantis in Fall. Young mantids hatch out in Spring.

Habitat:

Found glued under an Evergreen tree.

Yes we have wild mantids here, but in some areas they are scarce so I to order egg cases and release the young in areas of my neighborhood where they are needed. Sometimes adult mantids will fly to new areas and spread where I cannot get to. :)
Wonderful find. I had to pay for one for my science class to observe.
I have seen these before , but did not realize they were Praying Mantis egg cases. I knew they held some kind of insect. Thanks!
