Description:

Rocky Mountain Elk grazing in snow near Mammoth Hot Springs, Yellowstone National Park.

Notes:

This mature bull elk was observed digging for food in 1-2 feet of snow along the road between Mammoth Hot Sprungs and Tower Junction in February 2011.
