Description:

Young Juvenile snake found on my neighbors doorstep, their son wants to keep it but I need help identifying it. The snake has a slender body with dark brown/grey banding on the top of it's body, its belly is also grey and has spots on it.

Habitat:

Tall wooded area

Species ID Suggestions

Black racer (juvenile)

Coluber constrictor

How fast was it? I think it might me a juvenile black racer.
Black Rat Snake (Elaphe obseleta obseleta)
Don't know for sure the species but I can tell by the head shape it is not poisonous.
