I've been struggling to keep up with the pace and its not easy. <<I'm just pushing too many donkeys.>> Sorry I haven't had the time to, at least, thank you all for viewing, commenting and favorite the spotting. I also would like to thank the honor and privilege to have it as a face for the Global Dragonflies & Damselflies Mission. It is only fair to tell a bit about the story of the spotting, since it can also represent a word of encouragement to other: The photo was taken using an "old" (my first 2MB - Fujifilm-Finepix-A204) digital camera. At that time the only thing I knew was that I had to look through a viewfinder and then click on the top button. Pretty dumb, Right? So... Beginners luck! Absolutely!...But with the help\blessing of a friendly dragon. It was too hot to stand on the shores of the small river (Dão River). There wasn't a single breeze and it was getting hard even to breath. Two small round rocks half emerged in the water where a temptation... Got in the water and sat down on the larger one (no larger then a melon fruit). Almost heaven... But heaven was on its way. Circling around my head, a beautiful dragonfly just insisted on getting closer. With the camera on my right hand, moved a bit aside, leaving a few inches of rock for a friend to join the refreshing moments. That's exactly what happen. The dragonfly sat by me, facing the camera. No matter how noisy the camera was or how fast I changed the camera position, my friend never left. Always changing pose, he seemed to know. I spend the entire afternoon taking pictures of the newly made dragonfly friend, but chose to publish the most surprising photo of them all. He was standing so close to the lens that I couldn't even see his head. The first time I saw it on the computer it looked like he was smiling. I just had to share it. Thank you, APaz
