Description:

The Pearl Crescent is a small butterfly with intricate orange and black patterns along the wings. Wingspan 21-34 mm long. Genus Phyciodes. There are many pearl crescent variations, shown by Wikipedia's image here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pearl_crescent#mediaviewer/File:Phyciodes_…. If i'm not mistaken, mine is the one in the center.

Habitat:

Memorial Lake State Park, Grantville, PA
