Field Notes

Description:

Tilly - at Taronga Zoo in Sydney, Tilly is a young Koala that we were able to get some photos of up close and personal. She is a young Koala at ~1.5yrs old. Recently left by her mother she has gone from milk to eating exclusively on gum tree (eucalypt) leaves.

Habitat:

Located in many areas of Australia, this particular Koala was photographed at the Taronga Zoo during a behind the scene tour.

Notes:

An iconic Australian animal, Koalas are not bears but rather nocturnal tree-dwelling marsupials. A close relative is the wombat.
