Field Notes

Description:

Crested and Thekla Larks are difficult to separate, but cresteds tend to frequent farmland and roadsides on the ground while theklas frequent rock and stone-covered slopes and are more likely to perch on bushes. This bird also has well-defined breast streaks. As well as these two larks we also have Skylarks and Short-toed Larks here and possibly others so identification is not easy!

Habitat:

Rocky slope with scattered gorse bushes
