Longhorn cowfish

Haha, boxfish are so weird. They have cube shaped bodies, weird tails, and those adorable little horns. This is a longhorn cowfish at the Tulsa Aquarium. Very cool fish. When they're stressed they release pahutoxin, a nuerotoxin which is toxic to itself too, so that's a...unique evolutionary trait. They're slow swimmers as well and make a grunting squeak when they're grabbed. It should also be added they swim so slow because they have no pelvic fins, or pelvic bones at all....begging the question of how this thing evolved...or why.
