Thank you Malcom! I really appreciate it!
I have spoken with the team and you can continue as it is for now and accept spottings from the whole of New Zealand, but those spotters outside the ring on the map will not be able to see the mission, although they can join if you ask them, as you did with me. Please do not accept any spottings from outside New Zealand though. If you need help in removing any contact myself or any other ranger via the chat boxes. The team are working on a solution to the geographical limitation to enable entire countries or continents to be included where it is considered desirable.
Thanks Malcom. It would be great if we could include all of New Zealand in the mission. Cheers!
There's a gaggle of these wintering at Waikuku Beach at the moment. I don't think any of them have head plumage as drastic as this guy though. Or yellow colouring as intense.
Hi bee, I have added this to your mission and will add the others later. I will also contact the Mission Controller to see if it needs remapping to cover the entire area, should we impose stricter controls on acceptance of spottings outside the mapped area.
Hi Malcom, Nice spotting! I'm starting a birds of New Zealand mission to document biodiversity within New Zealand. (http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/12520214) It would be wonderful if you would add your bird spottings to this mission and keep up the great posts. Cheers!
Wow that's an interesting bird! New Zealand has some amazing wildlife, so different to ours in Europe but isn't the climate similar? It's interesting to see all these different birds etc
