Field Notes

Notes:

This Common Red Poll was part of a large flock. It dug a tunnel through the snow. As it dug, snow came out the back. After about 2 minutes in had tunnelled through and it flew out the other side. I have the whole thing on video for the sceptics! I have no idea why it did this unless it was looking for seeds that were buried in the snow.
