Puffballs

Unsure of the species, but these are definitely puffballs. Well advanced in age, the hole is open and spores are being released. As younger specimens, they would probably have been white in colour. Only one small cluster found amongst ground ferns, leaf litter, and forest debis such as twigs and branches. These were found by the stump of a fallen tree. Surrounding trees mostly native Queensland Red Cedar, Bunya Pines, and smaller forest tree species. Area generally moist and well shaded.
