Description:

Honey bee (Apis mellifera) pollinating a purple orchid tree (Bauhinia purpurea)

Habitat:

Suncoast, west-central Florida, Pinellas County

Notes:

Front yard of the house, where we have one large mature and several small "volunteer" orchid trees. The day was hot, just after two days of torrential rain.
