Description:
These quick moving little lizards are about 55 mm long from nose to cloaca and have a tail that is just a little longer, giving a total length of 115 mm or so. The are grayish brown with a dark mottled pattern from the shoulders back through the tail.
Habitat:
This anole was spotted in the leaf litter along a barely discernible trail in secondary forest in the Amazon rainforest of SE Ecuador (700 masl).
Notes:
These blend in so well they almost can't be seen in passing unless they move. Fun to watch if you can get close enough without scaring them.
