Field Notes

Description:

A desert bulb. Leaves sheaths underground, leaves are not garlic scented when crushed. Flowers with a distinct dart purple, shiny ovary. Perianth segments pale. Ovary turns green in fruit.

Habitat:

semi-desert, rocky slopes or loessial areas

Notes:

We saw flies pollinating the flowers
