Field Notes

Description:

An Osprey Bringing Moss to its Nest
This bird made its nest on a high light pole at the neighborhood's baseball field. I was at my son's little league game one early morning when I noticed the Opsrey. There were 2, one bird belonged to the nest, and another looked like to be "fighting" with the owner over moss in the nest. One bird took moss out of the nest, then the owner of the nest, brought more back.

Keep 'playing around'! I really like this photo.
There should be little Osprey's soon, but we had very bad weather today. I hope the nest is OK. You can tell how big the nest is, but with this picture you can see how huge it is. Amazing a bird can make that big of a nest
it would be mine too! Great photo. Now you can go back and watch for little ones! Their nests are huge aren't they?
You're right, an osprey! I kept calling it a hawk, but I knew that was wrong. Thanks! I got a new camera for Christmas, and I was just playing around with it & just happened to capture this photo. So far, it's my favorite!
the photo is fantastic for many reasons but especially because you captured a bit of the nest as well. It is definitely an osprey
