Field Notes

Description:

Black and red beetle.

Notes:

This beetle was found walking across a rocky trail in the Dominguez-Escalante National Conservation Area. When touched, it tucked its legs in towards its body and waited quite a while before deciding to move again. I've seen suggestions on another site for both Zenodosus sanguineus and Tricrania stansburyi. Continuing to look at the info. for both to make up my mind.
