Field Notes

Habitat:

Broad-leafed and mixed woods, edges of fields and water-sides. I've seen them eating the grasses in salt marshes near our house.

Notes:

All winter 10 Wild turkeys dominated our yard. They disappeared just as suddenly as they arrived. While they were here they monopolized the grain I put out, so I took some out deep in our woods for the deer.

Now crows, ground feeding birds and... hopefully deer might get a chance to eat

- apparently the maine deer herd suffered greatly this winter from deep snow. This one looked like it was doing well so my efforts helped.
