Wildlife Spotting

This guy was bending around in my driveway tonight. It was between 4-5 inches long. I've never seen a caterpillar this big before and thought it was a surprise from a local dog. It had a very narrow portion of hair around each ring and golden eyes. Both ends look the same but there definitely was a head. It reared up a few times.

My assumption is this guy is ready to morph into something amazing. Not sure what it was we just let it be. Rolled it into the grass and move on.

The bottle cap is about 1 inch, or about, in diameter a little closer to my camera on my phone.
