Taken on Santa Cruz Island at El Chato Tortoise preserve

Habitat:

Large clearing surrounded by tropical forests; pools of water allow the tortoises to wallow and drink

Notes:

Species endemic to the Galapagos; subspecies endemic to Santa Cruz Island
