Description:

Taken at Dragon Hill (Cerro Dragon) on Santa Cruz Island. The final photo is of a land iguana nest.

Habitat:

Inland, sometimes near shores; found in areas with Opunti cactus, as adults feed mainly on their pads and fruits

Notes:

Species is endemic to the Galápagos. There is also a separate species very similar to the land iguana, know as the Santa Fe Land Iguana (Conolophus pallidus), which is only found on the island of Santa Fe.
