Field Notes

Description:

They can grow to a size of 23 inches, with the largest recorded at 32 inches. Colour is brown/purplish on top, with a light shade of pink on the belly. The tail features a pointed tip which is a harmless spur. The species lives most of its life underground feeding on ants, termites and their larvae

Habitat:

This was found dead on the grass covered in bite marks. In the past i have spotted them in my pool shed near rainforest trees.

Notes:

This one had been attacked and killed by something, presumably a cat due to the bite marks. Thanks to Ashley T for the ID!

I think that's it! Nose looks right and range is perfect :)
What do you think about Blackish blind snake (Ramphotyphlops nigrescens) ?
Ah of course! I completely forgot about the blind snakes! Thanks ashley!
My bet is blind snake. Legless lizards would have external ears. Blind snake would also be the reason for the lack of eyes. I'll try to find a species for you :)
