Wildlife Spotting

I think it might be Scirpus americanus, Common Three-square. the stems are "sharpely 3 angled, grows in Florida in brackish or saline shores.

Hahaha Great name for a person... rather it is a program .... Antioch New England has a masters program in Environmental Education. Probably the most fun I have had in years, being taught things to teach kids about the environment meant we got to DO those things!

"Sedges have edges" a cue I learned from Environmental Ed. at Antioch New England.... you might try looking at sedges. The saying may prove true!

It's a little hard to see from your photo, but the bulrush is most obvious for its round stalk filled with soft, spongy pith. It was intensely used here in the west (and probably there, too) by Natives to make mats.
