Field Notes

Description:

Male and female grasshoppers, about 4 cm long, mating at night. They are wingless and the male has more red coloring. The second picture is of the female.

Habitat:

Along the highway between San Cristobal de Las Casas and Tuxtla, Km 15, about level with Navenchauc.
