Description:
Taken in Sullivan Bay at Santiago Island. The most common species of sea turtle in the Galápagos. This one could have been hit by a boat, thus the white patch on its shell (as explained by our naturalist). The final picture is of a nest which was roped off to protect the eggs.
Habitat:
Shallow waters and lagoons around the islands

Subspecies endemic to the Galápagos
