Field Notes

Description:

A turtle with a shell about 8 or 10 inches across. The coloration was hard to spot, due to the brightness of the sun and my inability to get close, but I believe he was black with the bright stripes of color along the neck that I associate with painted turtles.

Habitat:

A lake surrounded by a deciduous forest.

Notes:

There were a number of turtles ranging in size that had climbed out on fallen trees to sun themselves. This was the largest of the bunch that I saw.

I had noticed your flowers too, but never put it altogether.
Jo, is this your turtle. You stinker, you didn't tell me. They are good pictures. Welcome to project noah!
The carapace looks more like a slider to me, but it could be a painted turtle
