Field Notes

Description:

Phlox divaricata is a species of flowering plant in the family Polemoniaceae, native to forests and fields in eastern North America. Wikipedia

Notes:

The forest on the south side of Spencer Creek (the trail less traveled) in Dundas, Ontario was full of these beautiful flowers in June. They don't seem to have the lovely scent that the garden variety of Phlox have.
