Field Notes

Description:

Mushrooms found in late autumn on the path through a forest. Silver-grey in color with darker grey along the edges, with a raised pinkish "nipple" in the center.

Habitat:

Leaf-covered ground in forest but on the lightly-worn trail, very damp, temperature at the time was around 10-12C but much cooler at night. I am unsure of the types of trees around this patch of mushrooms. It was the only patch visible, they were along the side of the path next to a rock. The floor was covered with fallen leaves from the surrounding trees, and they were within 1 metre of the nearest tree. The caps of the mushrooms were damp but so was everything else as it was raining. There was no noticable smell from the cluster.
