Atlantic coast rainforest

Notes:

I spotted this while hiking in rainforest. Leaves like this are extremely rare. only saw them twice during multiple hikes over a 3 month period.

Sure, it' s worth a check Dangermouse. Monkey-mind, I think the leaves were more thin.
It's one of those things it looks like something else I've seen...probably completely off the mark, but worth a check! There you go, decided - you're going back and going to make your fortune with this plant! :)
Houseplants are a bit of a speciality of mine but haven't seen one like this. Hopefully your books might shed some light on this. I should go back. I know exactly where to find it and I loved that place!
It does look begonia-ish, and something else I can't remember the name of. It looks like a type of houseplant here (not my speciality)...will have to consult the books tomorrow. Maybe you should go back, Dan, just for a cutting - if it's so rare, may be worth the trip. :)
It's quite possible. Maybe very little is known about it? I should have snuck a cutting back and made a fortune in the Horticulture industry!
