Description:

Lizard, around 20cm long.

Habitat:

In dry plantation, hiding near the base of a small, dead bush.

Notes:

Possibly Ground Agama or Spiny Agama, but would like help identifying

Observation is too far north to be Agama atra (although this looks close to yours http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Agama_atra_atra_CapeTown_SA_3.jpg ). Of the ground vs spiny agama...I think it looks much closer to the ground agama and not even close to the spiny ( http://www.hardaker.co.za/r-southernspinyagama3.jpg )
