Field Notes
Description:
Groups of insects in all stages of development are commonly found between May and October on common milkweed plants. Mature adults are orange with black rhomboidal spots at both end of a body and a black band in the middle. I spotted this adult happily feeding away on a pod of Butterfly Weed (Asclepias tuberosa) in a butterfly garden.
See nymphs here: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/56416019

Spotted on in a backyard flower garden in Kennesaw, GA.
