Field Notes

Description:

tallish, trailing shrub; beach dunes

Habitat:

growing on edge of Indian River in the wildlife refuge

Notes:

the last picture is of the dried pod and a seed; the seeds are incredibly hard and I believe are called 'sea pearls' in the sea bean collecting community; it was a gift from a friend that used to work on Cocoa Beach--I used it as part of a "Seeds" unit in my preschool classes.
