Please do! I've already seen some similar spottings in both of our collections, I'm sure we'll find even more soon.
haha! I have seen some scary bugs in my garden over the years....now that I know you, I'll be sure to take pics & ask you to help me identify them!
Yeah, they're pretty tough to differentiate sometimes. Katydids usually have long antennae, while grasshoppers have shorter ones. To tell you the truth, when I first saw one last summer, I thought it was some kind of assassin bug.
Thank you Latimeria....He just looked like a juvenile grasshopper to me.
That's actually a katydid nymph on the flower, genus Scudderia. Perhaps the species furcata, but I can't be sure.
