Field Notes

Description:

A minute dark urn-shaped fungus with white fluffy material all around the outside and lining an apical opening. The whole structure was about 2 mm tall and 2mm wide. The inside was a creamy white and smooth except for radiating spaced gills that flattened out towards the centre.
A smaller fruiting body that looked like a small ball of white fluff could be seen beside it. <br>
Pics 4 & 5 were taken a day later and they revealed shiny smoother bells near the first fuzzy cup ( which was also washed clean).

Habitat:

Spotted on a fallen tree branch.

Notes:

Family; Tricholomataceae
