Congratulations Mitch, your spotting is featured in the Project Noah blog today! http://blog.projectnoah.org/post/31656481822/the-truth-about-snakes
there is a better way. it's important to keep your distance if you don't know what you're doing, and to use a good pair of snake tongs for handling any venomous snakes.
of bothers me when the head of a rattle snake has to cut off! there should be a better way! http://youtu.be/53NP-xHOgvE
great pic! lovely creature. i don't see myself having the courage to take the pic of a snake. what for some reason it jumps at me?
I've been there too many times to count. I try to have one with me wherever I go now.
Nice spotting and pictures. I was on a Spring Break in TX in 2006 helping another grad student collect cottonmouths for his genetics study, and I saw just one coral snake and of course, was without my camera. :(
