Field Notes

Description:

Chrysso tiboli Barrion & Litsinger, 1995. For some time now, I have been trying to identify this kind of spider. My problem was, perhaps, the most common one. I could not, until today, find any pictures from reliable sources. Wikipedia published a list of Chrysso spp. which included C. tiboli, but it was printed in red which usually means that there are no pictures available. However, I was pleased to see that eol.org now has a superb photo of this species and, for me, that ended my uncertainty. My three previous spottings of this species are listed in Notes. All three were named “Unidentified Theridiidae” and I will set about updating them in the coming hours. Because of eol.org’s verification, I now feel confident to include two other references for this species - https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/825355-Chrysso-tiboli/browse_photos... and https://spiderid.com/spider/theridiidae/chrysso/tiboli/#google_vignette.....

Habitat:

This Comb-footed Spider was spotted, in the farm, on a Mango Tree (Mangifera indica Linn.) locally known as Mangang-kalabau. Plant information - http://www.stuartxchange.org/Mangga.html..........
