Beautiful bird. Especially in winter times these little birds make these times mor colourful and it's fun to watch them in a birdhouse looking for some cornes. Maybe you connect it to the "Pannonian wildelife" mission :-). It would fit perfectly.

My absolute favorite British bird! These little guys aren't related to the american robin (which I think was named for it by the early settlers because of it's red breast). They are much smaller than the american robin (about half the size) & are considered members of the flycatcher family not thrushes. They are incredible feisty & territorial & I have seen them attack birds many times their size like greater spotted woodpeckers at the feeder. They are also one of the least shy birds around humans & will happily forage around for worms in newly disturbed soil inches from my hands when I have been weeding! I starting to feel quite homesick!

It's a Rotkehlchen .. an European Robin! They are so cute!! Lovely shots!

Its a European Robin, and indeed they look nothing like the north american Robin.. the only thing that similar is the orange chest both of them have.. To me, the European one looks much sweeter.. ( maybe because of its rounded shape..? it always looks like he's gonna do somthing naughty. :) )

I agree, the Robins in America are thin and tall. But this is a beautiful shot non the less!

This doesn't look at all like what we call a Robin in North America. Are you sure you have the right name?
