Field Notes

Description:

About 12-15mm in length, with striking colouration: large dark blue eyes, lime green head and thorax with black stripes, short turquoise wings cover only about two thirds of the abdomen, legs are olive green with an orange section on the first two pairs, antennae are dark with a short green section towards the tip.

Habitat:

Humid forest around the town of Salento in the Colombian Andes, at about 1900m above sea level.
