Field Notes

Description:

Varying stages of life cycle present at this siting. Sizes ranged from 2 to 7 inches tall and same for diameter(width).

Habitat:

These mushrooms where growing at the base of a large ant mound in a fir-cedar-alder-maple tree dominant forest.

Notes:

The ant mound was 3.5 ft tall and the mushrooms where on the North and West sides of the mound. It looks like there is a relationship with the ant mound and the mushrooms but I do not know specifically what that is.
